| What can the
MedPrompt® Medication Compliance service do
for me? |
| Once you provide the information,
MedPrompt converts your medication schedule into wireless
messages and directs the messages to your wireless device
(text capable cell phone, palm pilot, blackberry, camera
phone, etc), or to the dedicated MedPrompt medical pager if you
don't have another wireless device. At the precise time
of day (or night) you receive a full text reminder
message to take your medication as well
as any special
instruction. |
| What happens after I receive
my message? |
| Once the message is received all
you have to do is take the medication. The next reminder will
come at the scheduled time. |
| What is the purpose of this
service? |
| The MedPrompt® Medical
Compliance Service is designed to help remind you when to take
your medications, as well as which medications are to be taken
along with any special
instructions. |
| What if my prescription or
dosage changes? |
| If the prescription or medical
instructions change, or if you have special needs or requests,
just notify MedPrompt® customer service at
800-321-7455 and the changes will be made electronically.
There is no extra charge for this
service. |
| Are other messages sent by
MedPrompt to me? |
| The only messages your
MedPrompt® Medical Pager is programmed to accept
are the precise messages you schedule regarding your
medication needs. On your cell phone or other wireless device,
MedPrompt also only sends your medical
messages. |
| Will I receive my messages
everywhere I go? |
| The basic MedPrompt coverage
area covers you nationwide with the MedPrompt medical pager,
and worldwide wherever your personal cellular or other
wireless device is operational.
|
| How am I charged for the
MedPrompt® Medical compliance
service? |
|
MedPrompt® charges
little more than a dollar per day for the basic MedPrompt
medical paging service, and there is no charge to you for
the use of the pager or the air time.
If you have your own wireless
device like a cell phone which can receive text messages, the
cost is even less from MedPrompt. There is a one time
initial programming and activation charge. A valid credit card
is required for the charge (Visa, Master, PayPal, personal or
electronic check).
In some states such as New York
the MedPrompt service is eligible under Medicaid or any number
of other state or local programs, depending on your medical
circumstances. Your cell phone, if used
for the MedPrompt service, may qualify as a deductible
medical expense under certain conditions. Additionally, your independent
pharmacy may have a program to provide the MedPrompt
service for you at no cost. MedPrompt may be able to
help if you provide the pharmacy contact info to
us. |
| Is there a minimum time I must
sign up for? |
| While most regular wireless
companies require a 1 or two year agreement,
MedPrompt® requires only a 90 day minimum. The
first and last month, plus the programming fee are paid at the
time of the sign up. There is a discount and additional free
special services for prepayment of 6 months or twelve months
service. |
| What if I already have an
Alpha-Numeric pager - can I use it for this? |
| MedPrompt® does not
transmit medical information over any pagers other than those
it issues and controls as part of the medical pager program.
However, MedPrompt does transmit your medical messages over
your other personal wireless devices such as cell phone, pda,
etc. |
| What happens if my MedPrompt
medical pager is lost or stolen? |
| If you choose to utilize the full
service MedPrompt medical pager, MedPrompt provides you with
the use of the pager, you are responsible for the first
$25 if it is lost, stolen, or irreparably damaged. Normal
wear and tear is excepted and it is repaired at no
charge. |
| How do I discontinue this
service? |
| Up to the 90 day minimum,
you may discontinue the service by returning the pager to the
MedPrompt® source from which it was received.
If we are sending your compliance messages to your own
personal wireless device, you may discontinue by phone, fax or
email. |
